Den Depot:  The shelves are in need of restocking!!  We are looking for canned meats, vegetables, fruit, pasta, and rice.

Pennies for Pink

It’s that time of year, October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!!

Our cheerleaders have officially started their “Pennies for Pink” campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness month!

Throughout the month of October, the cheerleading squad will be raising money through Pennies for Pink. There will be a Pennies for Pink water container at the front desk with Ms. Wixom, Student Services, in PE classes, as well as, at all the home football and volleyball games.  

Also, for any runners on staff, we will be cheering at the Komen 5K Race for the Cure on October 28 at North Park Mall …so let us know and we can make a personal sign for you!

Bear Nation FAQ: Introducing the Den Depot!!!!

The Den Depot is a food pantry and clothes closet located at Blalack Middle School. The purpose of the Den Depot is to meet the immediate need of any student. In the case of long-term needs, school administration will work with the student and family to ensure they are provided with the proper support from local agencies. If you have any questions regarding the Den Depot, please contact Blalack Middle School at 972-968-3505.

The Den Depot is a joint effort of Blalack staff, PTA and the National Junior Honor Society. A special thanks to Lowe’s Store #550 (1253 E Trinity Mills Road) for donating all of the shelving, racks and cubbies!!

Week of 9/4/17

AM Drop-Off: Please have your student on campus by 8:50am. This gives students time to use the restroom and get to class without running. Instruction begins promptly at 9am.

Monday - 9/4

• No School - Labor Day Holiday

Tuesday - 9/5

• NJHS applications go to 8th graders in Advisory - due 9/15
• Band sectionals: Flute, Trumpet, Euphonium  7:45-8:45am

Wednesday - 9/6

• Staff Meeting 8am
• Student & Staff Picture Day - Students will take ID/Yearbook pictures through Social Studies Classes.  Order forms were sent home through Advisory classes
• Band sectionals: Trombone, Tuba 4:20-5:15pm

Thursday - 9/7

• Meet the Teacher - 6-7:30pm, bring your child's schedule!
• 8th grade Theatre Production Parent Meeting 8:00pm - Theatre Room D6
• 7/8th grade Rhapsody Parent Meeting 5:30pm - Choir Room
• Band sectionals: Clarinet 7:45-8:15am
• Band sectionals: Bassoon, Bass Clarinet sectionals 4:20-5:15pm

Friday - 9/8

• Band sectionals: Saxophone,French Horn  7:45-8:45am
